LBO crystal, Lithium Triborate, LiB3O5, is an excellent nonlinear optical crystal for frequency doubling (SHG) / tripling (THG) of Nd:YAG, Nd:YLF and Nd:YVO4 lasers. LBO crystal is also one of the most useful nonlinear optical materials in ultraviolet and visible laser applications. LBO crystal is unique in many aspects, especially its wide tran***rency range, moderately high nonlinear coupling, high damage threshold and good chemical and mechanical properties. LBO crystal allows temperature-controllable non-critical phase-matching (NCPM) for Type I SHG, and also provides room temperature NCPM for Type II SHG. It possesses a relatively large angular acceptance bandwidth, reducing the beam quality requirements for source lasers. LBO crystal is also a good choice for THG to 355nm
&©|61557; LBO is featured by: &©|8226; Broad tran***rency range from 160nm to 2600nm. &©|8226; High optical homogeneity (dn»10-6/cm) and being free of inclusion; &©|8226;Relatively large effective SHG coefficient (about three times than that of KDP); &©|8226;High damage threshold; &©|8226; Wide acceptance angle and small walk-off; &©|8226; Type I and type II non-critical phase matching (NCPM) in a wide wavelength range;
&©|61557; LBO is perfectly suitable for various nonlinear optical applications: * More than 480mW output at 395nm is generated by frequency doubling of a 2W mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser (<2ps, 82MHz). The wavelength range of 700-900nm is covered by a 5x3x8mm3 LBO crystal. * More than 80W green output is obtained by SHG of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser in a type II 18mm long LBO crystal * The frequency doubling of a diode pumped Nd:YLF laser (>500µJ @ 1047nm, <7ns, 0-10KHz) reaches more than 40% conversion efficiency in a 9mm long LBO crystal. * The VUV output at 187.7 nm is obtained by sum-frequency generation. * 2mJ/pulse diffraction-limited beam at 355nm is obtained by intra-cavity frequency tripling of Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. &©|61557; HG of |
